On the Ganges

Varanasi, India, 2019

Varanasi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, is especially bewitching during the winter months when Siberian migratory birds fill the air over the holy Ganges river. I was intrigued by them and discovered that the seagulls journey all the way from Siberia around November and head back there in March, April.

Limited edition photographic print, signed and numbered by Louise Hawson

My images are printed on beautiful archival pure pigment cotton rag paper by the same master printer who produced my exhibitions at the Museum of Sydney. If you decide you’d like your print framed, it will be done by an equally skilled framer in a lovely raw Tasmanian Oak.
