Sooty Tern, Lord Howe Island

I fell deeply in love with Lord Howe Island when I was lucky enough to visit. Standing on top of Malabar Hill, to the island’s north, you can see right down to the Admiralty Islands, a small group of volcanic formations where divers go to explore pristine turquoise waters and beautiful coral reefs. In order to photograph birds like these Sooty Terns flying around down below, I had to lean right out over the cliff’s edge. On my own, without any sort of fence to stop you falling, I scared myself half to death as I got bolder and bolder, until finally I was far enough out to be able to capture the scene below me.

My images are printed on archival pure pigment cotton rag paper by a master printer, then signed and numbered. Frames are handmade by one of the best framers in Sydney in Tasmanian Oak (or white/black on request).

Unframed: 30cm x 42cm image plus a 6cm white border, making the print size 42cm x 54cm
Framed: 46cm x 58cm

MEDIUM (limited edition of 50)
Unframed: 51cm x 76cm image plus a 5cm white border, making the print size 61cm x 86cm
Framed: 65cm x 90cm

LARGE (limited edition of 30)
Unframed: 81cm x 122cm image plus a 5cm white border, making the print size 91cm x 132cm
Framed: 97cm x 138cm

EXTRA LARGE (limited edition of 15)
Unframed: 105cm x 158cm image with no white border, so the print size is 105cm x 158cm
Framed: 111cm x 164cm
